For my new little grandson I found a kit by Christine Sharp & Rachael Wright called "Ye Old Toy Shop" It was very enjoyable to make. I machined appliqued the shapes and finished with machine quilting around the outline. My grandson Loves it.

Xmas Table Runner
I commenced this Xmas runner back in June as a pre curser to a challenge for the CWA group that I am in. I found the pattern of the five trees on the internet. After hand appliqueing all the pieces, I then proceeded to machine quilt it. After my first attempt at machine quilting Thomas The Tank Quilt I thought it best to keep trying. The more practice the better. However I did over machined it and found I eventually pulled some parts out. All the materials used was from my stash. The wadding was the smallest I had but after putting it in I was not happy with the results . . . wobbly edges. I noted since that other people iron on a paper thin batting, which I'll buy for the next table runner. I wasn't happy with it on my dining table because it didn't sit flat so after a friend's suggestion I used it for the piano stool cover. It looked rather nice there.

Thomas The Tank
I found some lovely panelling with pictures of Thomas The Tank on it. Xaviour loves Thomas so I thought I would cut up the panelling and add strips to make a lovely play blanket. I attempted for the first time machine quilting. Initially I quilted in the ditch then around Thomas and his friends, I did crazy quilting. It seemed to take me forever to do it. We went up to Sydney the week following Easter and gave him the quilt then. He loves it. Now what to do for my next project?

Daffodils
Had fun making daffodils for a window box presentation. Pattern found here. One change I made to the pattern; when doing the final flute; instead of 2 dc in each single crochet I put 2 dc in the first seven sc, then 1 dc in the eighth sc, 2dc in the next seven sc then 1dc in the sixteenth sc. I found the flute looked better and not so sloppy.

Yarn Bomb Spade
A friend asked me to help make a diorama for the up and coming Elderly Abuse Awareness Day in June. We decided to do a garden setting. I said I would cover a spade with flowers and leaves I got the flower pattern from Attic24 blog called Triple layer flower. However I only did 2 layers. I completed the spade with leaves and the final touch : a butterfly.

Making a bag
I made a bag from the 5"squares Diana gave me for Christmas. I cut the square up then added a circle. I stitched around the circle for effect. I'm using the bag to carry my camera around with me and it's great. It has been to Italy, France and Dubai with me.
